Not all of them are stupid, but the odds of prclamia and other serious pregnancy complicatns for the woman increase with age, with the number of prior pregnanci, and if she previously had severe pregnancy complicatns. Michelle Duggar is high risk on all these factors. She would have died without the emergency and very premature delivery of Josie. (How early in the pregnancy she developed severe prclamia is also a significa risk factor for her health in the next one.)

She has 19 children, and the youngest is only 2. I think it is irresponsle to her living children for her to seriously risk her health and her life with another pregnancy.

Millions of women develop prclamia during pregnancy. Do you think ALL of them are stupid and shouldn't get pregnant again?

Josie is a healthy toddler now, not a frail baby. All little kids get sick. Staying in Israel a few extra days was just a precaution-. Would YOU force a young child to fly while not feeling well?

The last pregnancy and birth of a very frail preemie should have been a wakp call for the Duggars, but they really aren't too intellige. They took that frail baby on a vacation to Israel where she contracted an upper respirato infection and had to stay in Israel until she was well enough to travel.

It's not fair to make the older kids be babysitte because you choose not to halt your reproducte process when you reach a certain age. The only reason they can afford all these kids is because they are on TELEVISION-!!!! Get a clue!!!!

I am sorry for the Duggars and with their Faith they surely must know this was God/'s will. I believe they do have love in their hearts for more children and so why not adopt at this stage? There are plenty of children out there who need loving homes which this couple can provide. I believe with God having sent her this message that attempts to bear further children should be curtailed and they should look to those out there around the world who need a loving home.

I feel bad but 19 is enough, if they want more kids they should adopt a child, theres thousands of children who need a good home in the US. I think her body is finally trying to tell her to stop, the world is popullated enough.

The Duggars were debree long BEFORE the network approached them about doing a TV show. Learn the facts.

You obviously know nothing about them. They owe nothing, they accept no government money, they have always supported themselves-, they buy food in bulk, used clothing and vehicles, they built their own home. They are a burden to no one. Yes, the reality show is making them more comfortab, but they were not in debt before.

One less mouth we need to pay for with taxes. Without this stupid reality show these people would be in the poor house feeding their children. Either that or they feed them nothing but white rice?

My husband and I recently had our baby die when I was almost 9 months pregnant. We have two other children, however it doesn’t matter if its your third child or your 20th child, it still hurts like no tomorrow. Shame on everyone who made comments like “ Maybe there is a god after all. Nobody should have that many kids” It is still a life and very much still her baby.

If you're going to jump straight into judging this couple, I suggest you research them and discover WHY they choose to not use birth control. They do not now, nor have they ever taken Government assistance-. They are a precious couple with magnifice children. I would rather have a couple like this having 20 children than someone who *does* all the things the folks on this forum are accusing the Duggars of doing.

I agree with you. And really, who are we to determine for them how many children they should have. It isn't like they're living off the 'system'. I see plenty of people with 2 children using the government services and neglecting their children. Yet it seems even though Michelle and Jim are present for their children, all 19 of them, we still want to sit back and pass judgement on them. I find it interesti we have also interpret the message God is sending to them! Better duck if you're gonna toss stones....

Setting aside the wisdom of having that many kids, my heart has to go out to any parent who suffers such a loss.

I would hope we can all recognize that we can feel compassion for her even if we question her choices.

Several of the (adult) Duggar kids are volunteer firemen/E, and they've helped families all over the world in need. What have YOU or YOUR kids done for all those communiti?

In my community we call the people that supply the shared services in our community - EMPLOYED!! and in the middle of the worst recession since the big depression - that's a good thing. As tax payers they certainly pay for the services they do and don't use.

A woman's body can handle multiple pregnanci, every 1-2 years - otherwise they wouldn't be fertile for several days per month, every month, for 30+ years.

The Duggars frequently speak about God as if they know what he is saying and what he wishes. They give him credit for all of the good that happens in their lives. I would think they would believe he had his hand in this as well.

A new diet and exercise program is not the cure all for the serious complicatns Michele experienc in the last pregnancy. Michele is older and has had 21 pregnanci and that alone increases her risk for lots of complicatns, just one being a stillbirth-. One would hope Michele would take the time to focus on her health, recover from this last pregnancy, and taking care of her children.

A lot of people seem to want to speak for God. It's their choice how many children they want to have. Michelle was on a diet and exercise program and even did some water skiing on the last t.v. season. She probably just had low progestere levels since she is in her 40s. I wish her a speedy and peaceful recovery.

My point is why are they so adamant on baring more children in this day and age since they are not running a farm that requires large families. It sounds more like the vanity of her husband and her trying to please him. I think God is telling her its time to quit reproduci. Too much chileang is really hard on the woman's body. In earlier years, chileang has been the highest cause of death in women, especially in the pioneering age.

I'm dismayed at all the cruel words here. A woman lost her child. It's amazing to me how much support you liberal women will show a woman who has had an abortion, and how little you will give one who has suffered a miscarria. You are plain cruel in your words.

And by the way, you're also wrong in other ways. The Duggars take nothing from the Government and never have, even before they were on TV which is most of their marriage. They were not on tv at all before 2004. Also, Jim Bob does not work a regular job outside the home. He works some from home, mostly handling investment properties-. They also homeschool-, thus spending most of their days and time with their children. So much misinformion and so many assumptio. Many of you should be plain ashamed at your words in regards to this family.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your child. I am not a religious person, but in so many interviews I have watched over the years of the Duggars, they seem to always talk as if God was behind every little thing. So, if they feel God is behind everything else, why would they not believe God is behind this as well? As a retired nurse, I think her body needs a rest. There is a big difference between having seven children and having been pregnant 21 times, as Michele Duggar has been.

I had a stillbirth of my 6th child at age 42. I went on to have a healthy baby at age 46. These things happen but I would not presume to know the mind of God.

This is very sad news and my sympathies to the Duggar family. I would hope they would realize God maybe sending them a much louder message with the loss of this pregnancy since they ignored all of the complicatns with the last one. The Duggars should thank God only the fetus died and not the mother. It is long past time for Michele to let her body recover.

Why do they continue to have children when the last baby was premature and had to struggle for survival They need to stop having kids, God or no God.

I'm not here to get into religious debate with anyone. The Christian God that Michelle Duggar and I both believe in is not a God that would punish a woman by taking away her child when the woman is so obviously striving to lead her life in the most Christian way possible..-.and she's not just a Christian because she refuses birth control - it's in the words she chooses, the actions she takes (and doesn't take) and it's in how she treats her husband, her children and her community.

I find it sad that people are misconstrng the hand of God in all this. God isn't teaching her a lesson to not have anymore children - that's not how he works. He doesn't punish a mother by taking her child away.

You "ZPG" (zero population growth) people can stop crying since so many of you either choose to remain childless or go to third world countries and insure they remain childless, these children won't add any additional strain to the Earth!?
